Bob & Stacey –
A lot happening this week, along with an abrupt cold front on Tuesday. It came in with strong winds, which upended both of our port-a-potties! That was the only damage, and luckily they were unoccupied at the time. The weather postponed our terrace pour until yesterday, but got that done, along with the hot tub slab and the pad for the air conditioning units on the west side of the house. We set both of the concrete tubs early this week, and that was a major task. We hired Black Diamond Moving for more bodies and equipment, and it took 9 of us about 6 hours to set both tubs. Dave Daniels with Molding Mud said they weighed 1,000 lbs. each, and I don’t think they were a pound under that weight. Only damage was a few floor tiles that cracked under the weight of the dolly, and those have been replaced. The carpenters are finishing up the upstairs trim, and the two siding crews are making good progress. The glass wall was installed in the Exercise Room, after several delays due to shipping and damage. Damaged frame was replaced, and it all looks good. Rodger has finished the Mud Room cabinets, and moved on to the appliance garage re-install. The basement cabinets, minus the Wine Room (getting finish applied) and the Bunk Beds, arrive today (or possibly late last night!). The drywall crew will finish up the texture on the walls of the Living Room and stairwell today. We are awaiting an update from Dan Sanders on the replacement slabs for the bathrooms. Yesterday’s tracking info. had them in SLC, but they hadn’t arrived at the fabrication shop yet. Jeff Morris is sandblasting and finishing the Library fireplace facade, and should be installing that later next week. The insulator installed the spray foam in the crawlspaces yesterday, and just has the ceiling of the Mechanical Room remaining. Weber Drilling set the permanent well pump yesterday (we’ve been running off of a temp. one during construction), and delivered the VFD (Variable Frequency Drive – it controls the pump). The electricians will get that hooked up in the next few days. They have been trimming out where possible, installing the electrical for lights and the spa on the east terrace, and continuing to land all of the wiring in the panels in the Mechanical Room. – – – Dave
